In a significant development in Kerala’s ‘Half-Price’ scam, retired Kerala High Court judge Justice C.N. Ramachandran Nair has been named as the third accused. The scam involves the alleged cheating of individuals by falsely promising scooters and laptops at half price, purportedly funded through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

The primary accused, 26-year-old Ananthu Krishnan from Thodupuzha, allegedly orchestrated the fraud by offering two-wheelers and home appliances at discounted rates through various NGOs associated with a confederation he formed. Thousands of individuals are believed to have been cheated in this manner.
Justice Nair’s involvement has raised concerns due to his esteemed position in the judiciary. The police have registered multiple cases against the accused, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution and verify the authenticity of such offers before making any payments.
This case highlights the need for vigilance against fraudulent schemes that exploit the trust of individuals by misrepresenting affiliations with reputable organizations or individuals.
